Trustee Gerald E. Bourland
Gerald E. Bourland, appointed in 1979, is the senior most member of the
village board. Bourland retired from Laclede Steel Company in early
2000, after being employed with the company for forty years. At the
time of his retirement, he was the Manager of Treasury and Credit.
Presently, he has re-entered the work force and is employed by Alton
Steel Inc. as their Credit Manager. As a village board member, Jerry
has been chair of the Finance, Revenue & Ordinances committee for
many years and continues to serve on the Liquor Commission, Employee
Relations, and the Police, Fire and Public Safety
committees. He and his wife Joan live in the Whispering Oaks
section of Bethalto.
Trustee Linda Oldendorph
Trustee Linda Oldendorph was born in Alton, the fifth child of Ross &
Frieda Bacus. Linda married husband George and moved to his native
Bethalto. She graduated from Alton High and attended Lewis & Clark
Community College. Linda is the mother of four children (Eric, Kirk,
Lori and Kyle) and three grandchildren. A four-term member of the
village board, Linda works for the Wood River Township Assessor’s office
as a Deputy Assessor. Linda serves as chair of the Police, Fire and
Public Safety committee and also serves on the Liquor Commission,
Streets, Alleys & Sidewalks, and Equipment Inspection & Acquisition
committees.
Trustee Perry Withers
Perry E. Withers is a
long time Bethalto resident and graduate of Civic Memorial High School.
Perry received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from SIU-
Edwardsville. Perry and his wife, Michelle, along with their four
children reside in the Heatherland subdivision. He is employed as Vice
President with The Bank of Edwardsville and works at the Bethalto
Branch. Perry was elected to the Village Board in 1997. Perry is
chair of the Recreation, Parks & Public Buildings
committee. He also serves on the Finance, Revenue & Ordinances
committee, Employee Relations committee, Equipment Inspection & Acquisition
committee
and Residential & Commercial Building Plans & Requirements committees. Perry welcomes the resident’s comments and

Trustee Bob DiPaolo
Bob DiPaolo has been a resident of Bethalto since 1970. He lives with
his wife, Marky, and they have four grown children. Raised in Wood
River, Bob went to school at SIU-E where he received a BA in Economics
and an MBA. Bob spent 17 years in the local steel industry before
becoming a faculty member at Lewis & Clark Community College in 1983.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he serves as the
Coordinator of the Business Programs. Prior to becoming a member of the
village board in 2001, Bob served on the Zoning Board for about twenty
years and served as the Chairman of the Plan Commission for about two
years. Bob serves as chairman of the Equipment
Inspection & Acquisition and Utilities &
Service committees, and serves on the Residential &
Commercial Building Plans & Requirement committee.
Trustee Donald Flack
Donald M. Flack was born and raised in
Bethalto, where he graduated from CMHS in 1988. He followed-up his
education with a BS in Economics from SIUE and a law degree (JD) from
SLU, where he served as editor-in-chief of the Public Law Review. Don
worked at Laclede Steel prior to law school and now practices locally.
Don was an original member of Bethalto's Plan Commission, serving as
Vice-Chair prior to his appointment to the Village Board of Trustees in
2000. He was elected to his first full term in 2001, and currently
serves as chair of the Employee Relations committee.
He also serves on the Finance, Revenue & Ordinances, Street, Alleys &
Sidewalks, and Police, Fire & Public Buildings committees. Don is the son of Donald R. and Mary
Flack. Don's father also served as Village Trustee in the 1980's. Don
married his college sweetheart, Gillian (Kritzer) in 1992, and they now
have three children.
Trustee Jeff Mull
Jeff Mull was born and raised in
Bethalto, the son of Robert (Bob) and Connie Mull. A 1986 graduate of
Civic Memorial High School, Jeff received an Associates degree in
Science from Lewis and Clark Community College. Elected in 2007, Mull
serves as chair of the Street, Alleys, & Sidewalks and Residential &
Commercial Building Plans & Requirments committees. He also serves on
the Utilities & Service, Recreation, Parks & Public
Buildings committees. Married to Ellie (McPherson), they are parents to
Paige, Morgan, and Hannah. His civic duties include a ten-year tenure
with the Bethalto Boys and Girls Club, and currently serves as the
president, and is an eight-year veteran, of the board of directors of
Atlas Credit Union. |
