A. No, unless there is a change in structure.

Q. Can I burn and do I need a permit?
A. Yes, you can burn, and yes, you do need a permit. Pick one up in the clerk's office at the Village Hall or click here to download a copy. There is no charge. You CANNOT BURN LEAVES OR GRASS; only sticks and garden waste are allowed.

Q. Do I need a permit for a swimming pool?
A. Yes, also available to pick up in the clerk's office at the Village Hall for a $25 fee. Click here for specific rules on pools (Village ordinance, Chapter 40 Zoning Code, Section 40-3-12).

Q. Who do I call for brush pick-up?
A. The Public Works Department at 377-8013 or 377-2310.

Q. Who do I call to rent the community room or senior citizen's hall?
A. Call the clerk's office at 377-8051.

Q. How many animals are allowed in the village?
A. Three (dogs and/or cats) total. Owners of dogs are required to purchase a tag at the cost of $2 per tag. Tags are due on May 1 each year and are purchased in the clerk's office.

Q. What township do I live in?
A. Bethalto is divided north and south by Prairie Street into two townships. Those on the west side are in Wood River Township and those on the east side are in Fort Russell Township.
